All NYCDOE school buildings will be open today, Tuesday, October 26, 2021. All programs and activities will be held as scheduled, including 3k, Pre-k, K-12, D75, D79, YABC and adult education. Central Offices will be opened.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for NYC through 5pm today. Rain is expected to continue through early tomorrow morning. The storm has the potential to cause flooding, high winds, and damaged property as it moves over the City. New Yorkers must take time to prepare and take the appropriate precautions as they move about the city during the storm.
We urge staff and students traveling to school to exercise caution this morning; as well as those traveling to central offices. Please use mass transit wherever possible and leave extra time to get to and from school as traffic may be slower than usual.
We are coordinating closely with New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM) on the weather and if any of these circumstances change, we will update this site. Student, staff, and general safety is of the utmost importance.
