Eligibility Requirements:

NYC DOE Licensed and Appointed Principals and Assistant Principals

Selection Criteria:

  • Preference will be given to principals from schools participating in NYC Men Teach program
  • Minimum 1 year of satisfactory experience developing and implementing curriculum
  • Knowledge of high school graduation requirements
  • Knowledge of state and city academic policy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to provide instructional assistance to students, parents and community representatives

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Under the supervision of licensed pedagogical personnel, once selected participants agree to:
  • Actively participate in NYC Men Teach workshops
  • Create curricula and resources for members of the NYC Men Teach community; test and pilot units
  • Co-plan/organize school-based events to support the NYC Men Teach Program
  • Respond in a timely manner (within 48 hours) to participant and staff inquiries and requests
  • Communicate with Mentors at a minimum of two-times per month

Salary:

  • As per Collective Bargaining Agreement

Work Schedule:

September 2018-June 2019 (Approximately 60 hours depending upon funding availability)

Service exceeding the number of hours specified in the Chancellor's Regulation C-175 governing per session activities requires prior approval. The appropriate Per Session Supervisor must make the request via the Per Session Service System and receive approval before the person can begin working in the activity. Failure to obtain a valid waiver may result in the withholding of payment for hours worked beyond the maximum.
