Eligibility Requirements:

Must be a licensed and appointed teacher whose school will be implementing the Parent-Teacher Home Visit (PTHV) Model (National Initiative)

Selection Criteria:

Preference will be given to applicants with the following:

  • Must be teaching in a school implementing the PTHV model during 2018-2019
  • Commitment to work during the agreed upon schedule
  • Strong attendance record and performance
  • Satisfactory rating required
  • Excellent organizational, written, verbal and oral presentation skills
  • Enthusiasm for family engagement and use of the PTHV model to develop relationships with families leading to improved outcomes for students
  • Experience collaborating as a member of a team


  • Participate in professional development/training sessions for the PTHV initiative
  • Respond to surveys and participate in focus groups as needed
  • Be willing to participate in webinars, forums and other activities to build the NYC PTHV community


  • As per Collective Bargaining Agreement or the most current contractual rate
  • Transportation and out-of-pocket expenses will not be reimbursed

Work Schedule:

Various dates and times during the school year, which will mainly take place during after-work hours during the week, on Saturdays (or other non-school days). Training schedule will be determined by need and availability (Each training session is 3-hours long). September 2018-June 2019.

Service exceeding the number of hours specified in the Chancellor's Regulation C-175 governing per session activities requires prior approval. The appropriate Per Session Supervisor must make the request via the Per Session Service System and receive approval before the person can begin working in the activity. Failure to obtain a valid waiver may result in the withholding of payment for hours worked beyond the maximum.
