POSITION:                 

Speech Evaluators (Up to Nine (9) positions)

 

LOCATION:

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:          

  • Current NYC DOE Licensed, SLP or Teachers of Speech Improvement with preference given to SLP
  • And/or bilingually certified with BEA or TLPA
  • Preference given to current or past CSET team member
  • Satisfactory rating during the 2017-2018 school year

                                                                                                 

SELECTION CRITERIA: 

  • Proficiency in the use of NYC DOE systems to track students, including SESIS and Outlook
  • Experience in and knowledge of a variety of standardized and non-standardized assessments
  • Satisfactory experience in completing dynamic assessments
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of implementation of RTI strategies and interventions
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate relationship between speech and language skills and academic outcomes
  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to collaborate with IEP team and other disciplines as necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to counsel families as appropriate regarding results of testing
  • Proficiency in the use of NYC DOE systems to track students, including SESIS and Outlook

 

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:            

  • Collaborate with parents and Per Session Supervisor to schedule Speech and Language Evaluations
  • Complete dynamic Speech and Language Evaluations
  • Create comprehensive Speech and Language Evaluation Reports
  • Complete appropriate sections of the IEP and develop appropriate school based IEP goals on collaboration with school based CSE team members
  • Participate in IEP meetings as necessary
  • Outreach to parents/guardians as necessary
  • Maintain all related information in specified DOE information systems (e.g. SESIS)
  • Other related duties

 

WORK SCHEDULE:   

Saturday, 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

 

SALARY:                     

Per Session rates as per the UFT Collective Bargaining Agreement.  Contingent Upon Funding Availability. (UFT or relevant Union/Organization).
