POSITION:                            

NYCDOE Physical Education Curricular Resource Review Group (Up to 30 positions available)

 

LOCATION:                           

New York City Department of Education

Office of School Wellness Programs (OSWP)

28-11 Queens Plaza North, Room 504

Long Island City, NY 11101 or another approved Office of School Wellness Programs locations

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:             

  • Licensed and appointed Physical Education teacher- New York City Department of Education
  • Knowledge and experience in teaching and assessing middle physical education
  • Knowledge and experience in using scope and sequence documents
  • Proficient understanding of NYS and SHAPE standards
  • Experience in using various PE instructional resources as well as classroom implementation

                                                                                                                                                 

SELECTION CRITERIA: 

At least three (3) years of satisfactory experience within the NYCDOE.

 

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:              

  • Select, review, and evaluate existing published PE resources that will be used for upcoming professional learning
  • Pilot selected lessons/activities from selected resources in the PE setting
  • Assist with curriculum and resource analysis
  • Work closely and collaborate proficiently with physical education team members
  • Pilot scope and sequence materials in classrooms in 2018/2019.

 

WORK SCHEDULE:              

Nov. 20, 2018 – Feb. 28, 2019, between the hours of 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday or 9:00am-5:00pm on weekends (up to 60 hours per position). Specific hours and schedules are not guaranteed. Schedule to be determined and will remain subject to change based on project and funding ability.

 

SALARY:                                

Per Session rates as per the UFT Collective Bargaining Agreement.  Contingent Upon Funding Availability. (UFT or relevant Union/Organization).
