POSITION:                 

Office of Equity and Access (OEA) Implicit Bias/ CRE Guidance Counselor

 

LOCATION:                

Implicit Bias/ CRE Initiative

131 Livingston Street, Room 303

Brooklyn, New York 11201          

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:          

NYCDOE licensed and appointed guidance counselor                                                                                                                                                  

SELECTION CRITERIA: 

  • At least three (3) years of satisfactory (Highly Effective/Effective) experience within the NYCDOE.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of state and city academic policy as it pertains to schools
  • Minimum 1 year of satisfactory experience developing and implementing curriculum

 

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:            

Under the supervision of licensed personnel:

  • Participate in implicit bias training
  • Participate in the Critically Conscious Educators Rising Series (CCER)
  • Facilitate school based equity team meetings
  • Co-produce shared curricula; test and pilot units
  • Learn about CRE in planning and practice

 

WORK SCHEDULE:   

October 2018 - June 2019 (Approximately 35 hours depending upon funding availability)

 

SALARY:                     

Per Session rates as per the UFT Collective Bargaining Agreement.  Contingent Upon Funding Availability. (UFT or relevant Union/Organization).
