POSITION:

Teacher

OPSR Grades 9-14 Summer Institute

Approximately 75 positions

LOCATION:

NYC Department of Education

52 Chambers Street

New York, NY 10007

Also various school and partner locations throughout the five boroughs

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Licensed and appointed NYCDOE Teacher

SELECTION CRITERIA:

At least three (3) years of satisfactory record within the NYCDOE.

Currently or slated to be working at a NYC P-TECH Grades 9-14 school during 2019-2020 school year

Experience with project-based learning (PBL) practices.

Knowledge of state and city academic policies for high schools, including graduation requirements.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participate in professional development and inquiry-driven group working sessions to collaborate, develop, troubleshoot and refine Grades 9-14 school planning and practices for implementation during the 2019-2020 school year.

Participate in school planning around structural and instructional shifts needed to better integrate PBL, college and career readiness skills, and competency-focused learning.

Support delivery of professional development to involved schools.

Create and implement original resources for schools connecting college and career development competencies with subject areas at the high school level.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Hours up to, but not limited to, approximately 15 hours. Additional hours granted upon approval of the hiring manager.

SALARY:

Per Session rates as per the UFT Collective Bargaining Agreement. Contingent Upon Funding Availability. (UFT or relevant Union/Organization).
