POSITION:

Social Worker

OPSR Grades 9-14 School Programs

Approximately 10 positions

LOCATION:

Office of Postsecondary Readiness

52 Chambers Street

New York, NY 10007

Also various school locations throughout the five boroughs

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

NYCDOE Licensed and Appointed School Social Worker. Applicants presently a High School level preferred.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

• Preference given to social workers from OPSR’s NYC P-TECH Grades 9-14 Schools

• Knowledge of DOE policies and procedures

• Knowledge of high school graduation requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both orally and in writing

• Demonstrated ability to provide instructional assistance to students, parents, and community representatives

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of licensed pedagogical:

• Participate in Grades 9-14 model staff development training

• Plan and facilitate support meetings with Grades 9-14 teachers

• Collaborate with college faculty providing advising and technical assistance

• Co-plan/organize school-based events to support Grades 9-14 programming

WORK SCHEDULE:

Monday through Friday, either outside contracted work hours or between 9:00am-5:00pm; select Saturdays as arranged in advance, between the hours of 9:00am-5:00pm. Hours up to, but not limited to, approximately 15 hours.

ADDITIONAL HOURS GRANTED UPON THE APPROVAL OF THE HIRING MANAGER.

SALARY:

Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (UFT, CSA, DC-37 - Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent Upon Funding Availability.
