POSITION:

Office of Equity and Access (OEA) Implicit Bias Facilitator- Teacher

LOCATION:

Implicit Bias/ CRE Initiative

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

● NYCDOE licensed and appointed Teacher

SELECTION CRITERIA:

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills

● Knowledge of culturally responsive and sustaining education tenets

● Knowledge of state and city academic policy as it pertains to public schools

● Minimum 3 years of satisfactory experience developing and implementing curriculum

● Proven track record of convening diverse perspectives and opinions

● Knowledge of conflict mediation and de escalation strategies

● Proficient in Microsoft Office

● Equity mindset

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of licensed personnel:

● Participate in intensive multi day implicit bias training

● Participate in multi day CRE training

● Facilitate/ Co facilitate implicit bias sessions of 30- 100 participants

● Participate in monthly implicit bias facilitator webinars with senior leadership

● Complete post session reports

● Travel throughout the 5 boroughs

WORK SCHEDULE:

November 2019 - June 2019 (Approximately 125 hours depending upon funding availability)

SALARY:

Per Session rates as per the UFT Collective Bargaining Agreement. Contingent Upon Funding Availability. (UFT or relevant Union/Organization).
