POSITION:                 

Lead Coordinator to implement and oversee a driver’s education scholarship program in partnership with selected NYSED approved Career and Technical Education schools/programs

George Westinghouse Career and Technical Education High School

City Polytechnic High School of Engineering, Architecture and Technology

Williamsburg High School for Architecture and Design

Automotive High School

Transit Tech Career and Technical Education High School

William E. Grady Career and Technical Education High School

Queens Vocational and Technical High School

Aviation Career & Technical Education High School

High School for Construction Trades, Engineering and Architecture

Thomas Edison Career and Technical Education High School

Urban Assembly School for Emergency Management

Ralph R. McKee Career and Technical Education High School

Brooklyn STEAM Center

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:          

NYCDOE CTE licensed with State CTE Certification Title

Vehicle Mechanical Repair (Including Heavy Equipment Repair) 7-12 and City License title:

521 B Auto Mechanic and appointed teacher at the schools listed above.

                                                                                                 

SELECTION CRITERIA: 

  • Available to work period indicated below.
  • Achieved a satisfactory rating for the past two years.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Possess a NYS drivers license
  • Possess a NYC Drivers Ed Permit
  • Established network of Drivers Ed providers

 

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:           

  • Work with school coordinators to Implement driver education scholarship program
  • Work with teachers and administrators in various schools on selection process
  • Work with local driving schools to ensure payment and services are rendered
  • Support schools in maintaining and meeting deadlines
  • Support and implement the program’s high expectations of students
  • Monitor student survey and post program results from all schools
  • Maintain thorough record keeping/ Data collection
  • Work with the Office of Postsecondary Readiness

 

WORK SCHEDULE:   

Before and after school activity, including Saturday and Sunday if necessary, hours based upon available funding (up to 120 hours)

ADDITIONAL HOURS GRANTED UPON THE APPROVAL OF THE HIRING MANAGER.

 

SALARY:                     

Per Session rates as per the UFT Collective Bargaining Agreement.  Contingent Upon Funding Availability. (UFT or relevant Union/Organization).
