POSITION:                 

Teacher Assigned (Retirees welcome to apply) as Pre-K Bilingual Curriculum Reviewers

Positions to commence on or after March 29, 2019

For licensed NYCDOE teachers assigned with bilingual expertise in any of the languages listed below. Bilingual certification and early childhood teaching experience preferred.

Languages needed: Bengali, Chinese (Simplified), French, Haitian Creole, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Russian, and Spanish

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:          

For licensed NYCDOE teachers assigned (Active or Retired) with bilingual expertise in English and any of the languages listed above. Bilingual certification and early childhood teaching experience preferred.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               

SELECTION CRITERIA: 

Ability to review and edit translated early childhood curricular units in select language between late March and June 2019. Schedule to be determined.

 

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:            

·         Reviewers will receive translated early childhood curricular units in select language(s) and will be responsible to review content for accuracy and submit feedback according to designated timeline.

·         Reviewers will support with identifying early childhood texts to enhance the early childhood curriculum in select language(s).

 

WORK SCHEDULE:   

Ability to review and edit early childhood curricular units between late March and June 2019, approximately 3-5 hours per week. Schedule to be determined and will remain subject to change.

 

SALARY:                     

Per Session rates as per the UFT Collective Bargaining Agreement.  Contingent Upon Funding Availability. (UFT or relevant Union/Organization).
