Impartial Hearing Representation Office Summer Positions: SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHERS, SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKERS, SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGISTS

Selection will include a satisfactory rating and satisfactory attendance throughout the school year, seniority and work sharing for UFT staff.
Under the direction of Impartial Hearing Representation Office (IHRO) Senior Director, and in close partnership with Impartial Hearing Representatives, IHRO summer team members will support initial investigation related to special education Due Process Complaints. Specific responsibilities may include: retrieving electronic documents (IEPs and Evaluations) from SESIS; assisting in the review and summarizing of these documents; supporting and documenting interviews with school staff; and other duties as needed.
July 1, 2019 – August 30, 2019.
9:00AM - 3:00PM Monday through Thursday.
Per Session rates as per the UFT Collective Bargaining Agreement. Contingent Upon Funding Availability. (UFT or relevant Union/Organization).

NOTE: Service exceeding the number of hours specified in Chancellor’s Regulation C-175 governing per session activities requires prior approval. The appropriate Per Session Supervisor must make the request via the Per Session Service System and receive approval before the person can begin working in the activity. Failure to obtain a valid waiver may result in the withholding of payment for hours worked beyond the maximum.
