POSITION:

Counselor Lead, College Match Supports

Seeking approximately 60 NYC DOE Licensed and appointed Guidance Counselors

LOCATION:

Locations throughout the five boroughs

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

NYCDOE licensed and appointed Guidance Counselors

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Preference will be given to Guidance Counselors who have attended OPSR Summer Inquiry Institute and are working in a school participating in College Access for All program.

Preference will be given to Guidance Counselors who are participating in OPSR College Match professional learning series.

Minimum of 1 year of satisfactory (Highly Effective / Effective) experience within NYCDOE

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participation in all Professional Learning Community sessions for the OPSR College Match series.

Facilitate after school 1:1 student postsecondary planning conferences for strong match college-list building, affordability analysis, and college choice.

Data tracking for documentation of student milestone completion associated with planning conferences, including applications submitted, application outcomes, and final college choices.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Hours up to but not limited to APPROXIMATELY 25 HOURS, including 1:1 work with students after school during the months of October through May as well as Professional Learning Community sessions in September, November, January, March, and May. Additional hours granted upon the approval of the hiring manager.

SALARY:

Per Session rates as per the UFT Collective Bargaining Agreement. Contingent Upon Funding Availability.
