Education Paraprofessional (up to 1 positions)
Work Based Learning Resource Center
131 Livingston Street, Brooklyn NY, 11201 and other Locations throughout the 5 boroughs as required
Must be currently employed as a NYCDOE Education Paraprofessional
Knowledge of Performance Standards for Work-Based Learning
Knowledge of policies and procedures of DOE and Work-Based Learning Resource Center
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Work-Based Learning programs
Familiarity with CTE High School programs
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Demonstrated ability to provide instructional assistance to students, parents, and community representatives
Under the supervision of the Student Internship Management Services Director, the Para will assist the staff and perform related duties appropriate to the position:
Process student employment verifications for student interns
Process student internship applications using online Internship Management System
Process Bi Weekly payroll for student interns
Provide telephone support for WBL Coordinators and Site Monitors, including advice on DOE and SIMS policy
Maintain and organize student files
Support professional development and payroll card distribution events, as required
Other tasks as required.
September 2019 – June 2020 (Paraprofessionals will work between 300-475 hours each depending upon funding availability and program needs)
Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (UFT, CSA, DC-37 - Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent Upon Funding Availability.

NOTE: Service exceeding the number of hours specified in Chancellor’s Regulation C-175 governing per session activities requires prior approval. The appropriate Per Session Supervisor must make the request via the Per Session Service System and receive approval before the person can begin working in the activity. Failure to obtain a valid waiver may result in the withholding of payment for hours worked beyond the maximum.
