POSITION:                 

Site Supervisor – Office of Safety and Youth Development

Prevention and Intervention

(Up to 4 positions)

 

LOCATION:                

Various schools within District 29

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:          

NYCDOE licensed and appointed Supervisor with satisfactory service for the previous 5 years                                                                                                                                          

SELECTION CRITERIA: 

•              Knowledge of DOE’s Chancellor’s Regulations and the NYC Discipline Code

•              Experience with after school evening programs

•              Experience supervising and rating teachers and non-pedagogical staff

•              Experience with  NYC DOE General Response Protocols                                                                                      

 

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:            

•              Coordinates and manage evening middle school Teen Center site located in District 29

•              Oversee trip and special events for the program

•              Responsible for the safety of all children and for direct parent contact

•              Work with parent associations, school principals, administrators, custodial personnel, outside city agencies, school safety agents, teachers and SAPIS on a daily basis

•              Plan, coordinate, and implement special programs planned by the Office of Safety and Youth Development, such as bullying prevention, creative arts and special assemblies

•              Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity of differentiated instruction. small group instruction, interdisciplinary instruction and using data to inform instruction

•              Demonstrated understanding of standards-based teaching, learning and assessment

•              Knowledge and experience with the Common Core Learning Standards and New York City Scope and Sequence

•              Supervise instruction, observe and evaluate teachers and all program staff

•              Responsible for completing Online Occurrence Reporting System (OORS) reports and communicating with school Principals

•              Work in collaboration with the program administrator pertaining to incidents, safety concerns related to program implementation

•              Excellent writing, communication and organizational skills.

 

WORK SCHEDULE:   

November 2019 – May 2020

K – 8, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday, 4:30 pm – 8:00 pm

or

Middle School, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday, 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm

No school holidays, (Up to 230 hours)

HOURS UP TO, BUT NOT LIMITED TO APPROXIMATELY 230 HOURS. ADDITIONAL HOURS GRANTED UPON THE APPROVAL OF THE HIRING MANAGER.

 

SALARY:                     

Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (UFT, CSA, DC-37 - Collective Bargaining Agreement).  Contingent Upon Funding Availability.
