POSITION:

Leaders in Education Apprenticeship Program (LEAP) Participant

Approximately 70 Teacher positions

 

LOCATION:                

Sunset Park High School

153 35th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11232

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:          

•              Must be an accepted participant of the 2019-20 cohort of the Leaders in Education Apprenticeship Program (LEAP)

•              Must be a current NYCDOE licensed and appointed teacher

•              Must expect to receive their SBL license by the end of the program in 2020                                                                                                                                          

SELECTION CRITERIA: 

•              Ability to reflect and identify school strengths and growth areas using NYC DOE data

•              Demonstrated ability to provide feedback to teachers

•              Strong written and oral communication skills

•              Strong interpersonal skills – ability to build/cultivate personal relationships and work effectively with diverse groups

•              Strong problem-solving and project management skills – strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to balance the big picture with detailed steps to reach the end goal, ability to complete projects on time, excellent follow-through

 

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:            

•              Attend and actively participate in all LEAP class sessions during Summer Intensive

•              Complete all pre and post assessments, coursework, assignments, paperwork, and job-embedded leadership experiences in a timely and professional manner throughout the summer

•              Submit only work that is authentically one’s own and clearly attribute any information that is not your original work

•              Respond to all program evaluation and other information requests, including but not limited to surveys, questionnaires and other reporting requirements

•              Work towards demonstrating proficiency on leadership competencies indicated in the PSEL.

•                  Analyze one’s own professional development needs and discern ways to address individual learning needs and develop situational leadership skills so that strategies match goals, objectives, and the moment-to-moment realities that school leaders encounter

 

WORK SCHEDULE:   

Approximately 10 hours a week, from July 8th to August 9th. Five days a week (Monday-Friday) from 7am - 9:00am or 3 pm – 5pm for up to 50 hours (not guaranteed) per position.

 

SALARY:                     

Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (UFT, CSA, DC-37 - Collective Bargaining Agreement).  Contingent Upon Funding Availability.
