POSITION:

Technology Teacher- Support Staff LEAP

Approximately 2 positions

 

LOCATION:                

Sunset Park High School

153 35th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11232

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:          

•              Must have a school-based title covered by the UFT (only)

•              Must be a current NYCDOE licensed and appointed teacher

•              Must be very skilled and knowledgeable with technology         

                                                                                                                 

SELECTION CRITERIA: 

•              Knowledge of videotaping, editing, and publishing digital media

•              Knowledge of software for editing videos

•              Strong knowledge of various software, i.e Microsoft Office

•              Strong knowledge of web-based programs, such as Googledocs, etc

•              Strong knowledge of software and hardware trouble-shooting

•              Strong problem-solving and project management skills

•              Strong organizational skills with attention to details

•              Strong written and oral communication skills

•              Strong interpersonal skills – ability to build/cultivate personal relationships and work effectively with diverse groups

•              Ability to train and support team on web-based and other programs

•              Ability to complete projects on time, excellent follow-through

•              Strong ability to work under pressure

•              Previous experience with LEAP Summer Intensive preferred

 

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:            

•              Provide daily logistical support for sessions as requested-

•              A/V set-up and breakdown, in room tech support as needed.

•              Provide participant, facilitation and session videotaping and/or photography as requested

•              Responsible for managing  DVD, tapes, photo files, posting of Googledoc, etc

•              Manage upkeep of technology equipment including lab computers and copy machine

•              Maintain inventory of all NYC DOE LEAP equipment and Supplies

•              Provide technical support for all NYC DOE LEAP Faculty

•              Participate in daily logistic check- in with curriculum specialist

•              Participate in various LEAP activities to support participants’ learning

•              Meet with LEAP Director and LEAP team to prepare and plan for LEAP activities and events

•              Attend logistic meetings to support LEAP

 

WORK SCHEDULE:   

•                                  From July 1 to August 12th . Five days a week from 7 a.m.- 3 p.m. or 9 a.m.-5 p.m. (one hour lunch) for up to 245 hours (not guaranteed) per position

 

SALARY:                     

Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (UFT, CSA, DC-37 - Collective Bargaining Agreement).  Contingent Upon Funding Availability.
