New York City Department of Education licensed librarian or licensed teacher-assigned to the library who have not received an unsatisfactory rating (in academic year 2018-2019) and/or an Advance Overall Rating of Ineffective in academic year 2018-2019.
Regularly appointed teacher of library with a minimum of 3 years of experience
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team
- Previous training and experience in library automation
- Previous training and experience in bibliographic database searching
- Understanding and experience using the Empire State Information Fluency Continuum
- Knowledge of the School Library Program Evaluation (SLMPE) Rubric
- Ability to design evaluation instrument to measure the effectiveness of the system’s programs
Per session personnel will perform a variety of tasks including but not limited to the following under the direction of the Director of
- Develop curriculum and assessments for library and information skills
- Organize, prepare and present materials for workshops, conferences, and handbook
- Update and download bibliographic information on national database according to AACR2
- Maintain system website and Libguides for members and participants
- Serve as a mentor for newly assigned library personnel in New York City
Hours of service from September 3, 2019 to June 30, 2020 will vary and range from 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Days and times will vary accordingly and hours to be determined.
The maximum number of hours per position is 300.
Per Session rates as per the UFT Collective Bargaining Agreement. Contingent Upon Funding Availability. (UFT or relevant Union/Organization).
