POSITION:             

Education Paraprofessional (up to 2 positions)

 

LOCATION:           

Work Based Learning Resource Center

131 Livingston Street, Brooklyn, NY and locations throughout the 5 boroughs

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Must be currently employed as a NYCDOE Education Paraprofessional

 

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Knowledge of Performance Standards for Work-Based Learning
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures of DOE and Work-Based Learning Resource Center
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Work-Based Learning programs
  • Familiarity with CTE High School programs
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to provide instructional assistance to students, parents, and community representatives

 

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Work Based Learning Resource Center Director, the Para will assist the staff and perform related duties appropriate to the position:

  • Process student internship applications using online Internship Management System
  • Process payroll for student interns
  • Provide telephone support for WBL Coordinators and Site Monitors, including advice on DOE and WBL Resource Center policy
  • Maintain and organize student files
  • Support professional development and payroll card distribution events, as required
  • Other tasks as required.

 

SALARY:

As per Collective Bargaining Agreement

 

WORK SCHEDULE:

July 2018 – June 2019 (Paraprofessionals will work between 300-475 hours each depending upon funding availability and program needs)
