POSITION:

Guidance Counselor

College and Career Planning Recourse Development

Approximate number of positions available: 50

 

LOCATION:

Various school locations throughout the five boroughs

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

NYCDOE Licensed and appointed Guidance Counselor

SELECTION CRITERIA: 

Preference will be given to:

•              Knowledge of DOE policies and procedures

•              Knowledge of current trends of the postsecondary access and success landscape

•              Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•              Minimum of 1 year of experience in high school programs supporting postsecondary planning

•              Knowledge of state and city academic policies for high schools, including graduation requirements

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participate in professional development with DOE staff and partners

Design and share OPSR priority aligned action plans

Participate in program evaluation activities

 

WORK SCHEDULE:   

During SY 2019-20 with DOE Staff and Partners Monday to Friday, either outside contracted work hours or between 9:00am-5:00pm; select Saturdays as arranged in advance, between the hours of 9:00am-5:00pm. Hours up to, but not limited to, approximately 10 hours. Additional hours granted upon approval of the hiring manager

ADDITIONAL HOURS GRANTED UPON THE APPROVAL OF THE HIRING MANAGER.

 

SALARY:                     

Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (UFT, CSA, DC-37 - Collective Bargaining Agreement).  Contingent Upon Funding Availability.
