Office of Equity and Access (OEA) OEA Specialty Implicit Bias School Secretary

 

LOCATION:                

Implicit Bias/ CRE Initiative

New York, New York 10001      

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:          

NYCDOE licensed and appointed School Secretary

                                                                 

SELECTION CRITERIA: 

•              Applicant must have completed the 5 hour foundational Implicit Bias Awareness Workshop (**Certificate of completion must be submitted with this application)

•              Applicant must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

•              Applicant must be knowledge of state and city academic policy as it pertains to public schools

•              Applicant must have a minimum of 1 year of satisfactory experience developing and implementing curriculum 

 

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:            

Under the supervision of licensed personnel:

•              Participate in capacity building sessions related to understanding the historical context of educational inequities, supporting culturally diverse student identities, and addressing oppression in schools

•              Learn about CRE in planning and practice

•              Co-produce shared curricula; test and pilot units

•              Be committed to creating supportive and inclusive environments for all students

 

WORK SCHEDULE:   

•              March 2020 - June 2020 (Approximately 10 hours depending upon funding availability)

ADDITIONAL HOURS GRANTED UPON THE APPROVAL OF THE HIRING MANAGER.

 

SALARY:                     

Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (UFT, CSA, DC-37 - Collective Bargaining Agreement).  Contingent Upon Funding Availability.
