CTE externships in Automotive, Transport, Information Technology, Culinary Arts, Construction Trades, Engineering and Architecture, Media Technology and Design, Hospitality, Healthcare,
Various businesses within the New York Metro area.
CTE teachers with certificate titles under the following general categories:
Aviation / Aerospace, Manufacturing & Repair Occupations
Construction Industry & Building Maintenance Occupations
Family & Consumer Science Occupations
Food Service Occupations
Graphic Printing & Visual Communications Occupations
Motorcycle, Marine & Outdoor Power Equipment Occupations
Precision Metal Work Occupations
Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Occupations
Other/ Unique & Emerging Occupations
- Possess a CTE certification in the above areas
- Possess New York State driver’s license
- Available for an orientation with business supervisor
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- CTE Instructor will be paired with a supervisor at the business/organization, who will assign and monitor tasks
- CTE Instructor may be responsible for classroom management, if externship is combined with CTE students serving a summer internship
- Instructor may be asked to bring basic hand tools to the job site
- Instructor will be responsible for appropriate work clothing
- Instructor may be asked to sign a host specific non-disclosure agreement
Per session rate, as per UFT Collective Bargaining Agreement
July 1, 2018 – September 1, 2018 (Hours contingent upon funding)

NOTE: Service exceeding the number of hours specified in Chancellor’s Regulation C-175 governing per session activities requires prior approval. The appropriate Per Session Supervisor must make the request via the Per Session Service System and receive approval before the person can begin working in the activity. Failure to obtain a valid waiver may result in the withholding of payment for hours worked beyond the maximum.
