Eligibility Requirements:

  • NYC Department of Education licensed and appointed teachers with expertise in curriculum development and at least one of the following areas: English Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Mathematics
  • Satisfactory rating required
  • Strong attendance record

Selection Criteria:

  • Minimum of five years teaching experience in grades K through 12
  • Demonstrated cross-curriculum content knowledge and assessments
  • Knowledge of the Common Core Standards and PK-12 NYS Standards
  • Experience with digital instructional resources
  • Experience in curriculum and lesson plan writing/development
  • Experience with teaching various types of student learners
  • Experience in curriculum mapping and standards alignment
  • Knowledge of research-validated instructional methodologies
  • Knowledge of effective teaching practices and the Professional Teaching Standards
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current research in education
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to attending all online and face-to-face activities

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Participate in collaborative activities to refine and/or review existing digital instructional resources
  • Conduct review of digital resources according to established criteria and protocol
  • Respond to surveys and participate in focus groups as needed
  • Be willing to be videotaped in various settings, as needed
  • Commitment to attending all professional learning sessions
  • Communication with coaches via email and phone as necessary

Salary:

As per Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Work Schedule:

July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019. Various dates and times that may include Saturdays and/or Sundays. Schedules will be determined by need and availability by the activity supervisor (up to 150 hours).

Service exceeding the number of hours specified in the Chancellor's Regulation C-175 governing per session activities requires prior approval. The appropriate Per Session Supervisor must make the request via the Per Session Service System and receive approval before the person can begin working in the activity. Failure to obtain a valid waiver may result in the withholding of payment for hours worked beyond the maximum.
