Virtual Tours of NYC Schools

2018 Pilot

This year, we partnered with students, teachers, and staff on a pilot project to create virtual tours of seven NYC public schools. We took three different approaches to creating the tours, using combinations of 360-photos, videos, student interviews, and/or tour narration.

Now you can explore these high schools and middle schools from anywhere with your computer or phone.

Goals and Future Tours

Our goals in creating these virtual tours are:

  • To increase awareness about NYC public schools and showcase what makes them special.
  • To increase access to schools for families who may not be able to attend in-person open houses, either because of scheduling or because a school’s open houses fill up quickly.

We're also actively seeking feedback from families and from schools to learn which of these pilot tours are most helpful and appealing. Eventually, we hope to partner with one vendor to create more tours of more NYC schools.

We want to hear from you! Fill out this brief survey to let us know what you think of these tours.
