Virtual Tours of NYC Schools

In 2018 we partnered with students, teachers, and staff on a pilot project to create virtual tours of a few NYC public schools. We took different approaches to creating the tours, using combinations of 360-photos, videos, student interviews, and/or tour narration. Now you can explore these high schools and middle schools from anywhere with your computer or phone.

Landmark High School

This high school is located in District 2, in Chelsea, Manhattan, where it serves 331 students from grades 9-12. You can watch this 360-video tour of Landmark High School in English, Spanish, Chinese, Bengali, Russian, Arabic, Urdu, Haitian Creole, Korean, or French.

Middle/High School Tours

The Clinton School

This middle/high school is located in Chelsea, Manhattan, where it serves 726 students from grades 6-12. The Clinton School is open to middle school applicants who live or go to school in District 2, and to high school applicants citywide. You can watch the 360-video tour of this school in English, Spanish, Chinese, Bengali, Russian, Arabic, Urdu, Haitian Creole, Korean, or French.

Quest to Learn

This middle/high school is located in District 2, in Chelsea, Manhattan, where it serves 548 students in grades 6-12. Quest to Learn is open to middle and high school applicants citywide. You can watch the 360-video tour of this school in English, Spanish, Chinese, Bengali, Russian, Arabic, Urdu, Haitian Creole, Korean, or French.

Goals and Future Tours

Our goals in creating these virtual tours are:

  • To increase awareness about NYC public schools and showcase what makes them special.
  • To increase access to schools for families who may not be able to attend in-person open houses, either because of scheduling or because a school’s open houses fill up quickly.

We're also actively seeking feedback from families and from schools to learn which of these pilot tours are most helpful and appealing. Eventually, we hope to partner with one vendor to create more tours of more NYC schools.

We want to hear from you! Fill out this brief survey to let us know what you think of these tours.
