How to Get Help
Enrolling at your zoned school:
Most elementary and middle school students can enroll directly at their zoned school, without having to visit a Family Welcome Center. To find your zoned school, follow these instructions:
- Visit schoolsearch.schools.nyc and enter your address in the School Name or Address search bar.
- In the Grade dropdown, choose your child's grade level.
- In the Borough dropdown, select the borough where you live.
- Click the Search button.
- Look for zoned schools under "Current Zoned Schools."
For all other needs:
Make an appointment by emailing your local Family Welcome Center (see list of locations and emails in the Family Welcome Center Locations section below). If you are unable to email the Family Welcome Center, you may call them instead.
FWCs are open from Monday through Thursday, 8am-5pm, and on Friday, 8am-3pm. Appointments take place either in-person or via phone.
When you email us, include the following:
- Your child's first name, last name, date of birth, and Student ID number (if they have one).
- A brief summary of your needs. We will work with you to set up an appointment accordingly.
