POSITION:

Instructional Resources Developer, AI framework to support MLs/ELLs 

Multiple Positions Available 

Division of Multilingual Learners 
Grace Bennett, Director of Science and Technology, K-12 

 

LOCATION:

52 Chambers Street, New York, NY 10007 and various locations 

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Licensed and appointed NYCPS teacher (various certifications and grade levels accepted) 

 

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • At least three (3) years of satisfactory (Highly Effective/Effective) experience within the NYCDOE as a common branch, middle or high school teacher, (ESOL, Bilingual and SPED certifications are acceptable and welcome) 
  • Certified by New York State 
  • Knowledge of and implementation of instruction aligned to the most up-to-date version of state standards for your certification area 
  • Scheduled to work with NYC DOE during the 2024-2025 school year 
  • Adept at utilizing the various AI agents/tools and software, in particular, Microsoft Co-Pilot 
  • Experience with teaching a racially, culturally, and linguistically diverse group of English Language Learners (ELLs) 
  • Knowledge of how to effectively scaffold grade-level curriculum (e.g., texts, tasks) for ELLs 
  • Demonstrated ability to meet benchmarks and deadlines for resource development 
  • Demonstrated ability to act on constructive feedback, ability to provide constructive feedback, collegially 
  • Possess a strong learner’s stance 
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality records 
  • Able to attend online meetings and professional learning, engage digitally in platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Classroom 
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and collaborative skills 

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Per session personnel will perform one or more of the following tasks under the direction of the appropriate supervisor:  

  • Attend all in-person and/or online sessions for ML/ELL Instructional Resources Developer 
  • Collaboratively design, create and test instructional and curricular materials  
  • Provide feedback to DML on materials, complete and submit all required documents as needed 
  • Additional responsibilities as needed 

 

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Hours up to, but not limited to, approximately 10-15 hours total per participant 
  • Spring to June 2024, with potential to expand to include summer hours, if available (to be separately advertised)
  • Work will take place on weekdays or weekends, after contractual work hours 

 

Hours up to, but not limited to the approximate number of hours listed. Additional hours may be granted upon the approval of the hiring manager.

 

SALARY:

Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent upon funding availability and programmatic approval.
