Family Welcome Centers (FWCs)
FWCs support families enrolling in NYC Public Schools with specific enrollment needs. Parents and guardians can schedule a virtual or in-person appointment at any of the locations to help them with school enrollment.
Services
Family Welcome Centers provide specific services. If your child has a zoned school or received an offer from a school through the admissions process, you need to contact that school directly for enrollment help. Family Welcome Centers can offer specific enrollment services which are listed below.
Get help enrolling a student in a NYC public school, whether new, returning, or switching from a charter or private school, and submit required documents online.
Get help transferring a student from one NYC public school to another. This includes travel hardship transfers for high school students.
Get assistance with exploring schools, applications, applying, and checking waitlist status in MySchools.

Use the map below to find a Family Welcome Center near you and book a service. Before booking, review this information:
You will need to provide ID and enrollment documentation during your meeting. Review the list of accepted documents on our Registration Checklist. Be prepared to provide this information electronically for virtual appointments.
Our office cannot make changes to the application or waitlist process. If you would like to explore other school options, you must add your child to the waitlists of other desired schools through your MySchools account.
New and returning elementary or middle school students do not need to visit our office – you can find your zoned school on Find a School and enroll directly at the school.
If you can't find a spot that works for you, or there are more than 2 students needing enrollment support, call 718-935-3500 and we will find a spot that meets your needs!
