Parents have the right to receive information or communicate with a staff member at their school or Department of Education (DOE) office in their language. If you or someone you know needs help, tell your school’s principal or parent coordinator, call the DOE at (718) 935-2013 or email Hello@schools.nyc.gov.

Find a few of the DOE’s translation resources on the DOE public website and InfoHub, including:
"I Speak" Card
Download and print the Parent's Guide to Language Access, which includes an "I Speak" card. Bring the card with you when you visit your child’s school or DOE office to request assistance in your language.

Sign Language Interpretation Services
For sign language interpretation services, please contact your school’s parent coordinator or the Office of Sign Language Interpreting Services via email OSLIS@schools.nyc.gov.
Translation of the DOE’s Website
The Department of Education’s website can be translated by selecting your language on the top part of any of the DOE’s public pages. This feature has been enabled for your convenience using translation software powered by Google Translate. Please note, however, that automated translation are not intended to replace human translators and are provided as a service to users of the DOE’s website. No warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied, is made as to the accuracy, reliability, or correctness of any translations made from English into any other language. Some content (such as images, videos, Flash, etc.) may not be accurately translated due to the limitations of the translation software.
