An Astoria native, Mr. Constantinides has decades of experience advocating for Queens students and investing in the borough’s public school system. Since 2021, he has served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens — one of the largest youth-focused community centers in New York City that serves more than 5,000 young people per year.
Prior to his tenure at the Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens, Mr. Constantinides served as the City Councilmember for the 22nd Council District from 2014 to 2021, representing parts of Astoria, East Elmhurst and Woodside. In the City Council, he led the Committee on Environmental Protection, shepherding the landmark Climate Mobilization Act — the world’s largest carbon emissions reduction ever mandated by a city — among other critical sustainability and resiliency measures. He also invested millions of dollars into Western Queens’ schools and parks, including a $30 million overhaul of Astoria Park.
