The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.
NYCPS works with the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) to offer fun, welcoming, and strong learning options through Summer Rising.
In Summer Rising, multilingual learners in grades K-8 spend mornings in classes that reflect who they are. These classes support their learning. In the afternoon, students join enrichment activities led by trusted community groups. Mornings also include extra help for English Language Learners. This help builds their language and reading skills and supports their grade-level work.
