OMNY Card 'Taps' Into NYC Schools This Fall
This fall, your child's Student MetroCard will become a relic of the past.
OMNY Card, New York City's fastest, easiest, and best way to get around, is now available for NYC Public School students across the five boroughs. Through the new Student OMNY Card, City students can ride New York City's MTA subways and buses with just a tap—it's that easy!
In fact, Student OMNY Cards are better than Student MetroCards in just about every single way—you can:
- "Tap" to ride MTA subways and buses for free, up to four times a day
- Use your card all day long—not just during certain hours
- Tap to ride every day of the year, even during weekends and holidays
- Make bus transfers
- Use one card for the entire year, including summer months
Student OMNY Cards will be distributed to eligible students in NYC Public Schools beginning September 5.
To learn more about Student OMNY Cards, visit our official webpage; if you have questions about your child's eligibility for a Student OMNY Card, please speak with your school's Transportation Coordinator.
On behalf of NYC Public Schools, we thank our partners at the MTA for working to provide NYC students with a better, faster, and easier way to ride to and from school!
