The Month Ahead (January 2025)
Goodbye, 2024—it's been real.
We've just about made it to January 2025, the time of the year when we spend our days recovering from December's holiday festivities while also trying to honor the New Year's resolutions that we swore to ourselves we'd stick to "this time."
For City public school families, two of the most notable dates this month are Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and Lunar New Year. There are also two key admissions dates for families seeking to place their children in NYC's 3-K, Pre-K, and kindergarten programs. Additionally, our high school (grades 9–12) and secondary school (grades 6–12) families should be aware of this month's scheduled Professional Development Day. And finally, this month marks the start of the 2025 CCEC election season.
Let's delve a little deeper and see more about what's in store for City public schools in January 2025, courtesy of the 2024–2025 NYC Public Schools calendar.
