Chancellor Kamar H. Samuels Announces Dates For Public Engagement Tour
NEW YORK, NY – New York City Public Schools (NYCPS) Chancellor Kamar H. Samuels today announced dates for Our Schools. Our Future: Conversations with the Chancellor, a five-borough community engagement series. The goal of this tour is for NYCPS leadership to engage with students, families, educators, staff, and community partners on critical school issues, and to hear ideas families about how to better involve them in decision making processes. In these conversations, Chancellor Samuels will reflect on what safety, academic rigor, and true integration look like in practice.
“These conversations are about fundamentally changing how we make decisions by ensuring that those closest to our students have a real seat at the table,” said Schools Chancellor Kamar Samuels. “When families are true partners in the process, our schools become stronger, our policies become more effective, and our commitment to every child becomes meaningful. I look forward to these conversations and working together to build schools to reflect the hopes and needs of the communities they serve.”
At each event, families will have the opportunity to engage with teams from across NYCPS to ask questions and learn about resources related to language access, special education, enrollment, and more.
