Schools Using Assessments for Fall 2026 Admissions
The schools listed in the table below require an assessment as part of the Fall 2026 admissions process.
- The Selection Criteria column shows the factors each school considers when making offers.
- The Assessment Information column explains each school’s requirements. Use the links provided to visit school websites for details on the assessment and submission instructions.
Most schools manage their own assessment process and collect completed tasks through their websites. Some schools - such as the Bard Early College High Schools, HBCU Early College Prep, and Beacon - conduct assessments in person.
The following schools collect assessments directly in MySchools:

Assessment for Consortium Schools
Consortium schools believe that students thrive when they are given the opportunity to study topics in-depth and apply their learning outside of the classroom. Instead of taking tests, Consortium school students demonstrate their skills in practical terms: they design experiments, make presentations, write reports, and defend their work to outside experts. Below are the four consortium schools that participate in a common assessment:

- 02M413: School of the Future High School
- 07X495: University Heights Secondary School
Instructions
To apply to any or all of the programs above, answer one of the two prompts below in 500 words or fewer:

How are course grades and assessments used together?
For schools that require an assessment, course grades and assessment scores are combined into a single weighted score. Each school decides how much weight to give each component, and this information is shown on the school’s MySchools profile and in the table above.
How It Works
1. Course Grades: Students are assigned a score on a 100-point scale based on their screened admissions group:

2. Assessment Score: Schools submit assessment scores on the same 100-point scale.
3. Weighted Average: The two scores are combined using the school’s chosen weights. Students are admitted in descending order of this combined score.
Example
If a school weights course grades at 20% and an essay at 80%, and a student in Group 1 scores 85 on the essay:
- Grade mapping = 100
- Essay score = 85
- Combined score = (100 × 20%) + (85 × 80%) = 88
The student’s final score is 88, and offers are made in descending order of these scores.
If a student has no eligible grades, the assessment counts for 100% of the selection criteria.
